Watergod Wishing Fountain

As part of Dat Bolwerck’s BEAR Responds program, the Watergod Wishing Fountain was made as part of the Fair - an outdoor, community-oriented space made in collaboration with Lot Benjamins, Neda Naujokaitė, and Studioopeningpremiere.

Water God Wishing Fountain engaged with water as a unifying, bodily force, a deity of sorts to which this is an alter - an alternative heaven to pray to. The cyclicality of the fountain in its motion and the imagery on its basins are a reminder, or maybe an allegory, for the porous cyclicality of our bodies and our beings.

In a poetic turn of events, the water in the fountain enacted its will and shattered the fountain as winter fell.
